The children in Years 1 and 2 had a slightly chilly but fantastic time on Friday when they visited Warwick Castle. During the day they had fun learning about King Henry VIII and his wives and how the Anglo-Saxons and the Normans fought for the throne at the Battle of Hastings during their Meet the Monarchy workshop. They enjoyed climbing the battlements, exploring the castle and its grounds and visiting the Peacock Garden. There was also time to watch the bird of prey demonstration and visit the maze- luckily no one got lost!!
The trip was a great boost to their learning as part of their current topic Kings and Queens as well as an opportunity to experience a part of local and British history. We hope you enjoy a few snaps from the day…
