Through the charity Hope & Compassion, Mrs Sehra is coordinating a project called “Letters of Kindness” and is inviting Birches children (and grown-ups!) to get involved.
Mrs Sehra is asking for letters and/or pieces of art work that can be shared with vulnerable and elderly members of the community in care homes.
They have already successfully matched 86 pairs and counting and would love more people to get involved. In such unprecedented times, elderly members of the community are finding themselves having to cope with extreme isolation. They have no family, friends or any outsiders visiting. What a wonderful thing for them to have contact by receiving letters and artwork from the Birches community.
If you would like to get involved please email Kindness@hopecompassion.org
You will then receive an email with clear instructions and attachment with your resident’s name. If you have a printer, print it out or complete freehand then scan (if able to) or take a photo and send back. Letters and artwork will be sent in individual, plastic wallets in batches to protect the vulnerable residents.
As one child wrote on her poster.

‘because you can’t go outside we thought we would bring the outside –  inside”.

Try to be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.
